Safety Instructions

Under the new GPSR regulations, we are required to add safety instructions to all products that we sell in the EU. Since our products are generally safe to use, instead of attaching a long printed document with each order (and waste paper), you can read everything there is to know about the safety of our products on this page.

General instructions:

Intended use: Our products are designed for use by crafty people to construct costumes, puppets and/or other similar projects. They are not intended for direct use without proper assembly, padding, and ventilation.

  2. Use as Intended: Only use this product as part of a fursuit/costume or similar craft project.
  3. Choking Hazard: Small parts may pose a choking risk. Handle and store responsibly.
  4. Wearer Safety: Proper assembly, padding, and ventilation are required to ensure wearer comfort and safety.
  5. Allergies: Be aware of any allergies or skin sensitivities to polyurethane resin, silicone, or other materials used in the mask/accessories. Resin head bases

Handling and Assembly
Tools and Cutting: When cutting or modifying the uncut base, use appropriate tools and personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves and safety goggles, to avoid injury.

  1. Adhesives: When gluing, ensure adequate ventilation and follow the adhesive manufacturer's safety guidelines. Avoid inhalation of fumes.
  2. Sharp Edges: Check for and smooth any sharp edges before assembly to prevent injury.
  3. Metal Components: Ensure that bolts and nuts added to the hinged base are securely fastened but not overtightened, as this could damage the resin.

During Use

  1. Ventilation: Ensure the finished headpiece has adequate ventilation to prevent overheating or difficulty breathing.
  2. Fit and Padding: Properly pad and fit the headpiece to avoid discomfort or injury during wear.
  3. Allergies: While the resin is fully cured, individuals with sensitive skin should avoid prolonged direct contact.

Maintenance and Care

  1. Cleaning: Clean the resin base with a soft cloth and mild soap. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  2. Storage: Store the base in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, as these can cause warping or discoloration.
  3. Inspection: Regularly inspect the assembled headpiece for any signs of damage or wear, such as cracks or loose bolts, and repair as needed.

Resin teeth and other accessories

Handling and Assembly

  1. Adhesives: Use a strong, compatible adhesive for attachment (an air-drying or epoxy modelling clay is recommended). Follow the adhesive manufacturer's safety and usage guidelines.
  2. Positioning: Ensure teeth/claws are positioned securely and symmetrically for a professional appearance and safe use.
  3. Modifications: If resizing or reshaping is necessary, use appropriate tools and wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves and safety goggles, to avoid injury.

During Use

  1. Secure Installation: Confirm that teeth/claws are securely attached before use to prevent detachment during wear.
  2. Padding and Fit: Ensure that padding or lining of the mask does not press the teeth uncomfortably against the wearer.
  3. Allergies: While the resin is fully cured, individuals with sensitive skin should avoid direct contact with the teeth/claws.

Maintenance and Care

  1. Cleaning: Wipe teeth/claws gently with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could damage the resin.
  2. Inspection: Regularly check the attachment of the teeth/claws for stability and repair or reattach if necessary.
  3. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent warping or discoloration.

Silicone tongues, noses, and ears

Handling and Assembly

  1. Adhesive Application: Use the attached cloth backing for adhesive application. Follow the adhesive manufacturer's safety and usage instructions. Ensure the adhesive is compatible with the material of the base (hot glue gun is recommended).
  2. Placement: Ensure the silicone part is securely positioned to avoid detachment or misalignment.
  3. Cutting or Resizing: If resizing is necessary, use appropriate tools, and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to avoid injury. Avoid cutting through the cloth backing, as this is essential for attachment.

During Use

  1. Secure Attachment: Confirm that the silicone part is securely affixed before use to prevent detachment during wear.
  2. Padding and Fit: Ensure that the placement of the tongue or nose does not interfere with wearer comfort or airflow.

Maintenance and Care

  1. Cleaning: Wash gently with mild soap and water. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that could damage the silicone.
  2. Inspection: Regularly check the attachment for stability. Reapply adhesive if the cloth backing becomes loose or detached.
  3. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place to prevent damage or deformation. Keep away from sharp objects.

Resin Eyeballs

Handling and Assembly

  1. Adhesives: Use a strong, compatible adhesive for attachment. Follow the adhesive manufacturer's safety and usage guidelines. Avoid applying adhesive to the surface of the resin eyeball, as this may cause smudging or distortion.
  2. Positioning: Securely position and align the eyeballs in your project for a professional and stable finish.
  3. Cutting or Modifications: Modifying the resin eyeballs is not recommended, as it may damage the embedded design or compromise structural integrity.

During Use

  1. Secure Installation: Confirm that the eyeballs are securely attached before use to prevent detachment during wear or handling.
  2. Avoid Impact: The resin is durable but can crack or chip if dropped or struck with force.

Maintenance and Care

  1. Cleaning: Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could scratch or cloud the surface.
  2. Inspection: Regularly check the attachment for stability. Reattach if loose or detached.
  3. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent yellowing or discoloration over time.

3D-Printed Eyes

Handling and Post-Processing

  1. Sanding and Smoothing:
  • Use fine-grit sandpaper or other appropriate tools to smooth print lines.
  • Always work in a well-ventilated area and wear protective equipment such as gloves and a dust mask to avoid inhaling particles or causing skin irritation.
  1. Painting and Finishing:
  • If painting, use paints compatible with PLA and follow the paint manufacturer’s safety guidelines.
  • Allow all finishes to cure fully before handling or attaching to a project.
  1. Avoid High Heat: PLA can deform at high temperatures. Do not expose the eyes to excessive heat during post-processing.

During Use

  1. Secure Attachment: Ensure the eyes are securely affixed to the project to prevent detachment during wear or handling.
  2. Padding and Fit: Properly position and pad around the eyes to avoid discomfort or injury during wear.

Maintenance and Care

  1. Cleaning: Clean gently with a damp cloth. Avoid soaking in water or using harsh chemicals, which may damage the finish.
  2. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat sources to prevent warping or discoloration.
  3. Inspection: Periodically inspect the finished project for stability and repair or replace if necessary.
